Relic Mode

32 relics, 43 tasks.

Overview

  • Finish any of the 43 tasks for a pick of up to 3 random relics. There are more tasks than relics, so choose your own path.
  • Kill the King Black Dragon and the Kalphite Queen (tasks 24 and 25) to finish the run. They give no relic.
  • You start with 10x XP and unlimited run energy. The XP Multiplier relic triples your rate each time you take it: 30x, 90x, 270x.
  • Failed skilling attempts get a second 50% roll. Combat is not affected.
  • Your 10th task always gives Quest Pass. Every 5th task offers an XP Multiplier.
  • Combat relics 3 to 9 each add +50% accuracy and stack.
  • With friends, everyone who hits a boss before it dies gets the kill.
  • Game Options tab (wrench): Tasks and Relics buttons show your progress.

Relics

XP Multiplier I

Your XP rate goes from 10x to 30x. Switches on by itself when you finish your 5th task. Not an offer choice.

#1a

XP Multiplier II

XP rate goes from 30x to 90x. Switches on by itself at your 10th finished task (together with the Quest Pass scroll). Not an offer choice.

#1b

XP Multiplier III

XP rate goes from 90x to 270x. Switches on by itself at your 15th finished task, together with your normal pick of 3 relics. Not an offer choice.

#1c

Quest Pass

Gives you a Quest Pass scroll (in your backpack, or your bank if the backpack is full) and a message box that says where it is. Read it when you are ready, ideally out of combat: every quest is then marked complete, with the rewards. Expect a lot of quest-complete scrolls to click through. The scroll moves to your bank if you die, and the Relic Keeper replaces it once if you lose it before reading it. The quest reward XP is plain 1x (neither the XP Multiplier nor the 10x base rate applies); the multiplier is back as soon as the last quest is done. Given only by your 10th finished task, never offered.

#2

Stoneskin

You take half damage.

#3

Quickstrike

You attack twice as fast. Melee rounds down, so a 5-tick weapon becomes 2 ticks (ranged and magic round up).

#4

Glass Cannon

You deal double damage to NPCs and take 1.5x damage. Every attack that lands also has a 25% chance of an extra hitsplat, and each extra hitsplat has its own 25% chance of another one (up to 10 extras from a single attack). Extra hitsplats roll their damage like a normal hit and give you combat XP, and Vampire heals from them.

#5

Phoenix

If a hit would kill you, the hit is cancelled and you are restored to full hitpoints. Your death animation plays, you call out "I rise from the ashes!" (overhead text every nearby player sees) and a ball of fire flares around you as you get back up. Works once every 5 minutes.

#6

Vampire

Every hit you land on an NPC heals you for 10% of the damage, rounded up, as both hitpoints and prayer points. A 25 hit heals 3 of each and even a 1 hit heals 1.

#7

Executioner

NPCs below 25% HP die instantly.

#8

Bounty

Every kill drops coins plus a piece of food, bigger for tougher NPCs. The coins are five times what they were: (5 + 3 x the NPC's hitpoints) x 5.

How: pick the drop up

#9

Eternal Vein

Ore rocks never run out, ore goes straight to your bank, and ore is smelted into bars for you (with Smithing XP).

#10

Evergreen

Trees never fall and logs go straight to your bank.

#11

Double Yield

Mining, woodcutting, fishing and cooking give double items. Mining, fishing and smelting (with Eternal Vein) give double XP too.

#12

Midas Loop

High Level Alchemy keeps repeating on the same stack.

How: cast High Level Alchemy

#13

Philosopher's Coin

Alchemy pays double coins.

How: cast High Level Alchemy

#14

Everlasting Jewellery

Duelling ring, glory amulet and games necklace never lose charges. One of each is put in your bank when you take it.

#16

Last Recall

Teleports you back to where you last teleported from. Use it again to swap between the two places.

How: use the Recall stone

#17

Banker's Call

Opens your bank from anywhere.

How: use the Banker's stone

#18

Hoarder

One extra pick from relics you declined earlier. Right after you take it, a scrollable list opens with every relic you turned down in earlier offers that you can still take (not the other two relics offered next to Hoarder). Click one to take it. If you close the list, the pick stays owed: it opens again when you log in, or from the Choose a relic now button in the Relics menu.

How: click a relic in the list

#19

Green Thumb

Four things for potion makers. Stat boosts never wear off (potions, kebabs, special attacks), so one super strength potion lasts until you are drained. Secondaries are never used up: finishing a potion keeps the eye of newt, limpwurt root, red spiders' eggs, dragon scale dust and the rest in your backpack (the herb and the vial are still used). XP grows herbs: every 500 XP you gain, before the XP rate and the XP Multiplier (in any skill except Herblore), a random identified herb you have the Herblore level for goes straight to your bank, picked evenly from guam leaf up to dwarf weed. Each herb it gives you also grants Herblore XP: the XP of cleaning that herb (the XP rate and XP Multiplier apply). Taking it also puts one of every potion secondary in your bank.

#20

Teleport Network

Opens a list of cities (Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, Edgeville, Draynor Village, Al Kharid, Camelot, Ardougne, Karamja). Click one to teleport there, free of runes. The usual teleport rules still apply (for example, not on Tutorial Island).

How: use the Network stone

#24

Rune Wellspring

Every 100 XP you gain (in any skill except Runecrafting) gives you a Rune essence bundle (100 essence). Use bundles on a runecrafting altar to craft them all at once. You also get a Wellspring talisman: its Altars option (or Locate on any real talisman) opens a list of altars to teleport to. The Relic Keeper replaces it if you lose it.

How: use bundles on an altar; Altars on the talisman

#21

Prospector's Pick

Mining, woodcutting and fishing roll for a result every 2 game ticks, whatever pickaxe, axe or fishing tool you use. Your first swing at a fishing spot still takes the normal time.

#25

Forge Echo

Smelting a bar or smithing an item has a 50% chance to make one more, sent to your bank, with the same Smithing XP. With Eternal Vein each ore smelted for you rolls separately.

#26

Endless Shoal

Fish are caught already cooked (never burnt, no cooking level needed, with the cooking XP) and go straight to your bank; a full backpack never stops you fishing. A fishing spot does not move away while you stand within 3 tiles of it.

#27

Fletcher's Echo

Fletching (cutting logs, arrows, bolts, darts, stringing bows) has a 50% chance to make one more batch, sent to your bank, with the same Fletching XP.

#28

Hunter's Haul

When a cow or a dragon (green, blue, red, black) drops a hide, you get ten tanned hides in your bank instead, and a 50% chance of a random uncut gem (sapphire, emerald, ruby or diamond) too.

How: kill the animal

#29

Archmage

Your spells hit twice as hard and cast in about half the time. About half of all casts use no runes (you still need the runes in your backpack). After you cast a damage spell (strikes, bolts, blasts, waves, Crumble Undead) at a monster, you keep casting the same spell at it until you walk away, click something else, or run out of runes. Freezing and stat-lowering spells are cast once.

#22

Endless Quiver

Arrows, bolts and thrown weapons are never used up and never fall on the floor. Ranged attacks are +50% accurate and hit +50% harder.

#23

Light Fingers

Pickpocketing never fails, so you are never stunned or hurt, and after each successful pick you pick the same pocket again by yourself. Stalls never run empty and guards and stall owners never see you: click a stall once and you keep stealing from it, with the usual loot and Thieving XP.

How: click a person (Pickpocket) or a stall (Steal-from) once

#30

Fellowship

Made for playing together. Everyone within 5 tiles of you (even without the relic) gets half of every XP gain you make, in the same skill, and half of the hitpoints you heal by eating. If several of you have it, the shares stack.

How: automatic, stand close

#31

If you die

Relic items (the three jewellery items, the Recall stone, the Banker's stone, the Network stone and an unread Quest Pass scroll) are moved to your bank when you die. If you lose one anyway, talk to the Relic Keeper near Lumbridge (about (3221, 3218)) and they will give each missing item back once.

Herblore supplies

The three herblore tasks (43 to 45) need things this game hands out sparingly. From the scripts:

  • Herbs drop from monsters (men, goblins, hobgoblins, giants, druids, dragons, demons and many more). They arrive unidentified: click one to identify it, which needs the Herblore level of that herb (guam 3, kwuarm 54, lantadyme 67, dwarf weed 70). No shop sells herbs and there is no farming.
  • Vials of water are sold in several shops. Limpwurt roots only drop from monsters. Dragon scale dust is a blue dragon scale ground with a pestle and mortar, and the only blue dragon scales lie on the floor in the Taverley dungeon. Wine of Zamorak is one bottle in the Chaos temple, plus a rare Canifis citizen drop.
  • Fellowship only gives, it does not need your friends to own it; they must stay within 5 tiles (same floor). Shared XP does not pass on again. Friends who receive your XP get a gold ring at their feet, and a green ring when they receive healing.
  • Green Thumb gives you identified herbs from XP, keeps your secondaries, starts you with one of each, and grants Herblore XP with every herb it gives you.
